A previous Ludlow Independent school headmaster has penned a detailed autobiography, exploring his experiences of headship and working in the independent sector.
Mr Piercy, who was the headmaster of the local Moor Park School from 2001 to 2023, is releasing his new biography, Careering, later this August.
The autobiography discusses his views and experiences of educational philosophy, school leadership skills, and thoughts on the independent school sector.
Mr Piercy has been at the helm of several schools over the span of his 25-year career, with his most position as a headmaster of a school in Seven Oaks in Kent. Mr Piercy reflects on some of the “curious characters” he met along the way, who helped to inspire and inform his educational philosophy and subsequent leadership of three independent schools.
Mr Piercy had what he describes as a rather “precarious education” later rising the ranks into leadership positions. With this long-standing career he felt he had “something to share” within his new book.
Copies of Careering will be available to order online from the 28 of August from https://troubador.co.uk/bookshop/autobiography/careering .
