A NEW home has been given permission to be build near Tenbury Wells, with plans approved.

The application to build a new home off the A443 at Eardiston was submitted to Malvern Hills District Council.

In a design and access statement accompanying the application, agent Dyanne Humphreys said on behalf of applicants Mr and Mrs Rainbird: "The submitted scheme seeks to secure an approval for a detached two-storey, three bedroomed dwelling.

"The existing access off the A443 will be used to afford the necessary access to this site; the existing access currently serves this ground."

The application says the site of the planned house is currently occupied by a caravan used as "overspill accommodation to the host property".

But pre-application advice said that there were concerns about the road, with a beech hedge reducing visibility of oncoming traffic. The application said that this matter required further consideration.

Malvern Hills District Council approved the application but made it subject to conditions. The decision notice said work must begin within three years and in accordance with the application form.
