A STORAGE site at an old farm near Tenbury Wells, described as a "haven for petrolheads", is home to a range of vehicles including classic cars, motorbikes and boats.

444 The Retreat is situated in a unit at Newnham Farm, an old hop farm at Newnham Bridge near Tenbury.

The idea for the business was born from the owners' love of automotive and design.

Mike Beighton and Tony Sheridan went into business together in March and set up the storage site in a 10,500 square foot premises at the farm.

Mr Beighton previously worked with Aston Martin for 25 years before founding Fisher Performance Cars at the Chateau Impney in Droitwich.

But Mr Beighton said: "My business partner has a more interesting story. He is the son of the fifth Beatle Tony Sheridan.

"Tony (junior) has lived a wild and eventful life being a commercial diver all over the world from 19 years old, the youngest in the North Sea.

"He then built several businesses here and in the US as he is a dual citizen. He helped built Disney World, Universal Studios, and he has overseen several US government contracts including Nasa.

"He is also a qualified pilot and a very keen collector of cool machines."

Explaining the premise of the pair's new business, Mr Beighton added: "Our premises is home to classic cars, supercars, motorbikes and boats. We maintain and manage collections.

"Our plan is to turn this site into a petrolhead haven for anyone interested in fine machines, good coffee and a drive out.

"We are supporting local events like Burford House Motor Show and Shelsley Walsh."

The Retreat has plans to introduce a lounge for car lovers to watch automotive sporting events on XXL monitors, and to host intimate gigs where local bands will perform. Food and drink is also to be provided.

The Retreat is hosting its first open day on September 7. Mr Beighton said: "This will showcase our plans for the future and hopefully create jobs and interest in the local community. Tony's band will be performing. We have on-site Nespresso coffee machines, breakfast and some very cool pinball, pool and jukeboxes to entertain.
