Shropshire Council have announced the three-day closure of a local road to carry out maintenance works on a pedestrian footbridge.
Honeysuckle Lane - between Oreton and Prescott near Cleobury Mortimer – will be closed from September 11, 2024, while repairs to Honeysuckle Footbridge are carried out by Shropshire Council’s term maintenance contractor, Kier.
The work will involve clearing the surrounding undergrowth, minor masonry repairs and repainting.
For safety, Shropshire Council say it will be “necessary to close Honeysuckle Lane to vehicular traffic between 8am and 4pm each day”.
Whilst the road is closed, traffic will be diverted by a signed diversion route, although pedestrian access to the bridge itself will be unavailable.
