A VAN driver has been fined by magistrates after failing to stop at the scene of a crash.
Ian Fisher was found guilty of one count of failing to report a crash as the driver of a vehicle and one count of failing to stop after a crash by magistrates in August.
He had previously entered not guilty pleas to both charges in July.
The court heard from prosecutor Shaheed Rahman that the 61-year-old had been behind the wheel of a Mercedes Vito van when he had been involved in a crash in Ludlow's Castle Street on July 6, 2023.
Damage was caused to a Mazda MX5, the court was told, but Fisher had failed to stop at the scene of the crash and, having not provided his details at the scene, failed to report the crash to police within 24 hours.
Magistrates in Telford handed Fisher, of Clee St Margaret, Craven Arms, a £120 fine and five penalty points for the offence.
He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £650 and a £48 victim surcharge.
