A local charity is getting a new look this September, in a drive to reach “the heart of Ludlow”.

Ludlow u3a, which is part of a UK-wide charity, provides the opportunity for those no longer in full time work to come together and “learn for fun”.

The organisation has recently launched a new website and will be taking on an exhibition stand in Ludlow Market on September 5 and September 27 to introduce their activities to the wider community.

Chair of the group, Janice Haines said that they had realised that there were a great deal of people who were not aware of the “tremendous benefits of membership”.

For £16, members can have the opportunity to join a total of 59 groups, with sports activites, crafts, and languages all on offer.

The group hosts eight full scale meetings per year, at the Assembly Rooms, featuring specialist speakers from all over the country. People eager to join the group are invited to the next meeting in the Assembly Rooms on September 30.
