WOMEN'S Institute members delighted with a selection of cakes at a stall in Tenbury, raising money for a great cause at the same time.
On bank holiday Saturday, ladies from St Michael’s WI held a cake stall outside the Regal Cinema in Tenbury to raise funds for Kyrebrook Day Care Centre.
The cakes had all been prepared by WI members, and included a range of sponge cakes, chocolate cakes and brownies, traybakes, fruit cakes, cherry cakes, drizzle cakes and shortbreads. There was also a box of delicious freshly baked scones donated by local cafe, Spotty Dog.
Despite the rainy weather, business was brisk, and the stall was sold out by 11.30 am.
There was also a raffle, with prizes generously donated by local businesses, including The Hair Shop, Blush, Smarty Pants, Rocca’s, Mr Thom, Spotty Dog, and The Smiling Goat.
St Michael’s WI President, Jenny Hooker was pleased to present a cheque for £190 to Ria Baxter of Kyrebrook Day Care Centre, who gave a big thank you to all who were involved in this worthwhile effort.
