Local Strictly fans are in for a treat this weekend, with one of it’s pro-dancing stars descending on Ludlow.
Vito Coppola, who is a professional dancer on the famed BBC TV show, is coming to the Ludlow Food festival on Saturday (September 14) to take part in some live cooking demonstrations.
The Strictly legend has recently made it through to the semi-finals of Master Chef and will be bringing his enthusiasm for cooking to the Bailey demonstration stage at the popular festival.
The TV star recently took inspiration for his successful Semi-final MasterChef dish from his homeland of the Amalfi Coast, serving chicken escalope in a white wine, lemon and parsley sauce.
Ludlow Food Festival were delighted to announce the addition of the Strictly dancer to their lineup, saying: “We'd like to congratulate Vito on progressing to the semi-final of BBC Celebrity MasterChef! We are all looking forward to watching first-hand the energy and passion he brings to his cooking”.
The food festival, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary, has said that this year they are filled with “anticipation and excitement” and that the food and drink festival has always been more than just an event, but a “community, a movement, and a testament to the power of collective passion for food and drink”.
The three-day festival will welcome a plethora of delicious food and drink stalls, along with other celebrity appearances. TV presenter Kate Humble will be joining the festival on Friday, and Nicky Laceby, a former contestant of the Great British Bake Off.
Live music, children's activities, and a special 'fire stage' which will be used for demonstrations, will be available across the weekend.
Coppola, 31, who won the competition last year alongside his celebrity dance partner Ellie Leach, recently spoke about Strictly’s return later this month, saying that this season would be a "beautiful year" because of the shows 20th anniversary, and that the team would be preparing "magical and beautiful numbers" for the upcoming season.
The Italian dancer and choreographer will be appearing at the food festival on September 14 from 2pm to 2.45pm.
