In August 2014 Nigel and Pamela Lucas of Craven Arms appeared in the press having celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary and they have just clocked up another 10 years.
The couple were married at Wistanstow Parish Church on August 21, 1954 and they have a son, Laurence.
Nigel will be best remembered for being one of the local postmen for 28 years before he retired in 1997.
Prior to that he worked at JP Wood & Sons Poultry, better known as “Chuckie Chickens”.
Pam worked for 18 years as a manageress at Ross & Sons shoe shop in Market Street up until its closure.
The secret to their longevity is keeping busy both in the house and garden where they still grow their own fruit and vegetables. In 2014 they received a congratulatory card from the Queen and now they have one from the new King and Queen to add to their collection.
