MORE than 70 shops and restaurants will open in the centre of Ludlow tomorrow evening (Friday) to provide a festive atmosphere to Christmas shopping.
In addition, 30 stalls will trade in Castle Square and carol singers and musicians will be out around the town.
This year's Late Night Ludlow is the second in which the town council and chamber of trade and commerce have joined forces with South Shropshire District Council.
The format has changed. Last year it was on three consecutive nights in the same week.
When traders analysed the results, they found that the final Friday night was the busiest so, this year, the event is on two Fridays instead.
Parking will be free from 4pm, one hour earlier than normal.
Many shops will hold special events and there will be special deals at a number of restaurants. Santa will be in his grotto in Market Square.
Farm animals, a pig roast and clay modelling are among other attractions.
"If you want to find that special unique gift, give Ludlow a try," suggested town clerk Paul Russell.
If you miss tomorrow, the next Late Night Ludlow will be on December 17.
