Ludlow 5 Aston University 1
LUDLOW maintained their good run of form as they beat Aston University, to record their third win in a row in Division Two West of the Coaching Solutions Midlands League. The lowly University students were swept aside as the home team took control from the start.
Tom Mason fired in two early goals as the home team used their possession and territorial advantage to good advantage. They had the students on the back foot and unlike some previous games this season, kept their foot on the gas to totally eliminate their goal threat.
The students needed a bit of luck but they managed to keep the home side out for the rest of the half. No doubt mindful of the Newtown fight-back earlier in the campaign, Ludlow recomposed themselves after the break and added to their tally. Tim Oliver netted twice and Neil Morris grabbed the fifth.
The second team are also showing better form and came home with a point from a 1-1 draw at Barlaston. Ludlow soaked up a lot of pressure in the first half and then took the lead on half time through James Parker. Ironically they enjoyed more of the game in the second but the home side scored a late equaliser.
