ARCHERS of Teme membership has doubled in the past year, so this winter the club is able to field two teams in the British Archer League indoor shoots.
Both A and B teams got off to a winning start, the A team beating a Bowmen of Chesterfield team by 2,633 points to 2,542, and the B team notching up 2,452 against Andover Archers, in both cases shooting recurve bows in Portsmouth rounds.
Top Archers of Teme scorers were: A team, Katie Beddows (Ludlow) 544, Mark Dunn (Ludlow) 537, Bill Eden (Tenbury) 526, Julie Fildes (Luston) 515 and Steph Beddows (Ludlow) 511. B team, Richard Tompkins (Ludlow) 494, Mike Head (Ludlow) 492, Tom Shaw (Clee Hill) 490, Huw Corness (Llangunllo) 489 and Mark North (Richards Castle) 487.
The club's Christmas dinner and presentation evening at the Salwey Arms, Woofferton on November 27 was a great success.
The annual general meeting at the St John Ambulance headquarters, Smithfield, Ludlow on November 30 was followed by a get-together and refreshments. Treasurer and records officer Mike Head said membership had doubled over the year from 16 to 32, and finances were in very good shape.
