RE accidents on the A49 at Ashton and elsewhere.
It's time for the locals to lose patience, and take action to force the motorised idiots to slow down.
They could club together and collect a few hundred pounds to buy half a dozen old cars which could then be permanently parked on the road to create "chicanes" which would reduce speed and thus danger, 24 hours a day.
Waiting for the authorities, and especially the police, to do anything is no good.
In particular the police are reluctant to take traffic law enforcement seriously - if they did, they would be blocking the roads and seizing thousands of driving licences.
Instead they employ officers specially trained to deal with those bereaved in "accidents".
Stopping the "accidents" happening in the first place hardly occurs to them.
