HOW kind of Dennis Wheeler from the Highways Agency to meet Peter Corston and Matthew Green to discuss plans to get HGVs access to the A49 southbound, north of Ludlow
What magic powers were invoked to prise him out of Birmingham - Richards Castle Parish Council can't even get him to reply to pleas for safety measures on the A49 at Woofferton!
It is lamentable that our elected representatives see fit to be involved in a PR exercise alongside one of the country's most neglected and most dangerous trunk roads.
The Highways Agency has shown itself to be ineffectual in managing this route, uncaring in its attitude to local public opinion and oblivious to the almost daily carnage on the A49.
Now if Matthew Green adopted an active stance on accident prevention, as has Bill Wiggins (MP for Leominster) following the tragedies at Ashton, then perhaps he would earn his corn.
Until then - nil out of ten!
