Ludlow Town Reserves 0 Tenbury United 1

TENBURY scored an early goal to secure the West Midland League Division 1 points in a typical local-derby midweek en-counter at the Coors Stadium.

The result consolidates Tenbury in mid-table but leaves the home team in second from bottom spot, nine points adrift of their nearest rivals.

Tenbury had the perfect start, taking the lead after just five minutes. Nicky Stocker attacked down the right, sent over the perfect cross, leaving Mike Foster with the simple task of nodding the ball home.

The game settled into a typical derby match, with plenty of effort but very few chances. With defences in control and a lot of play confined to midfield, Lud-low's threat came from midfield players running at the defence. This resulted in a couple of chances that came to nothing. Ryan Morris always looked dangerous for United.

On Saturday Ludlow's poor run of form continued when they went down 3-0 to Eccleshall at the Coors Stadium, their 11th defeat of the season. Eccleshall are immediately above Ludlow in the table.
