Woofferton 2 Westfields 5
AFTER surprising their Midland Alliance opponents in the first half, Woofferton ran out of steam in the second, allowing Westfields to ease themselves into the quarter-finals of the HFA County Senior Challenge Cup.
After Dave Cooper had made an early save from a header, Woofferton took control of the game and were two goals ahead by the half-hour mark.
They took the lead after Alan Hogg nodded home when Jamie Marsh flicked on a Mark Desborough free kick, and then added a second, Justin Wheatley crashing the ball home following a weak clearance from Jon Pugh.
Westfields had levelled the score before the break, Mark Hibbard from the penalty spot and a Derek Craddock header. This knocked the stuffing out of the home team allowing Westfields to add another three goals in the second half.
Hibbard notched his second to give the Hereford side the lead minutes after the resumption, and then Matt Beale sealed the tie with a brace.
