STUDENTS from Ludlow College are rehearsing a comic play about a school that is very much from the other side of the tracks.
John Godber's Teechers is set in a sink comprehensive in London as it prepares for the school concert.
He has finetuned the play over the years and his revision is currently on national tour.
Godber's past includes a stint as a drama teacher, when he won numerous awards at the National Student Drama Festival in the early 1980s.
The college's production has two directors.
One of them is Kate Francis, who took part in Teechers when the college staged it in 1993. She is now in her first term teaching drama.
By contrast, the other director is Ian Barge, who says he is on the verge of retirement. English tutor Neil Church has written the music to a new song for the show.
Teechers is due to play in the Drama Studio at the Harley Centre, on December 2 and 3 at 7.30pm.
Tickets will be available on the door and will be £3.50 or, for students, £2.
