MUSIC - it's a living thing as former Electric Light Orchestra guitarist and singer Phil Bates demonstrated when he came to Tenbury.
The expert musician, who was joined by Pedro Brown on percussion, helped revellers celebrate the third anniversary of live music at The Floor, earlier this month, by his own songs and covers.
"It's fantastic playing here," said Phil afterwards. "I actually prefer smaller venues, getting eye contact from the audience.
"I'm really glad places like this exist and that it's flourishing."
The Floor is held every second Friday in St Michael's Village Hall and co-founders Andy Cook and Jim Allen are thrilled with its progress.
"The Floor was planned to run for just three months but three years later it's still going strong," said Jim.
"We love live music and the diversity is great, we have had Japanese opera and a didgeridoo player in the same night, but not at the same time!"
December 10 sees the venue's Christmas special, with free mince pies and music from the Arnie Cottrell Trio and Sally and the Shotdogs.
