Ludlow 22pts Leek 6pts
LUDLOW ran in three tries to see off a spirited performance from Leek and maintain their challenge for the Midlands Four West North title.
As the season reaches the half-way stage they still have a 100 percent record in competitive games and in the opinion of captain Jake Parkes have achieved this without playing to their full potential.
Leek took the lead from a penalty but the home team responded with a try before the break. When a maul formed on the 22-metre line the Ludlow forwards made good ground to allow flanker Rob Evans to touch down. Mark Williams added the conversion to leave the score 7-3 at the break.
The home team added two more tries in the second half. Williams made a break to go over for the first, and then winger Matthew Hawes rounded off a fine back movement, which started inside their own half, by going round his man and touching down under the posts. Williams failed to convert his own try but had the easy task of landing the third.
Both sides notched a penalty in the second half to leave the final score 22-6.
This coming weekend it is back to cup action, when Ludlow make the long trip to Northampton to take on the Boys Brigade Old Boys in the Powergen Junior Vase.
