SPECIAL arrangements have been made to postpone today's (Thursday's) rubbish collections in south Shropshire to allow Biffa employees to attend the funeral of colleague David Gregory.
Mr Gregory, aged 32, of Lower Poston, Hayton's Bent, died in an incident at work, in The Paddocks, Ludlow, on the morning of Monday, November 4.
His funeral is due to take place in St John's Church, at noon.
An inquest into Mr Gregory's death has been opened and adjourned until March 16.
The district council has agreed with sub-contractor Biffa Waste Services that no collections will be made today.
All collections for today and tomorrow (Friday) will be made one day later, i.e. tomorrow and Saturday.
The changes apply to all black sack rubbish, green sack and green box rounds.
The council's Recycling Centre, at Coder Road, Ludlow, will also be closed today.
