IT'S all systems go for the demolition of a Ludlow eyesore.
Next Monday will see work start on the former Morse's shop - now referred to as the bomb shelter - in Rock Lane, and the building of four starter homes.
Property developer Roger Wilson said: "Residents have been coming up to me as I've been looking around the site, and begging me to get rid of this eyesore.
"I want to tear it down as soon as possible and replace it with the homes, which will go on the market for £85,000.
Young people in Ludlow are crying out for affordable housing," he said.
Karen Bradley who lives opposite the building, which carries a warning about needles on a boarded up window, says she can't wait for the demolition of the year-old eyesore to begin.
"I'll be glad to see the back of it," she added.
"Everyone wants to see it gone. When work begins people will be down here cheering it on. It's a danger to children."
All the demolition and building work will be carried out using as much of the local workforce as possible and Ludlow architect John Needham Associates has designed the new houses.
Residents can celebrate the start of demolition at a small ceremony at at 2pm next Monday. The town council will be represented by deputy Mayor Terry Burgoyne.
