LUDLOW Castle Tennis Club is making a push to encourage juniors to improve their skills.
Monday evenings are set aside for juniors (12-16-year-olds) and are aimed at those who have reached a suitable standard to participate in match play.
On average 16 youngsters participate in the sessions, which are good practice for the monthly junior tournaments.
Martyn Jones, just 16 himself, organises the tournaments, held on the second Sunday of the month and playing standards are already showing signs of improvements. Players are now entering more and more external tournaments.
The junior with the most tournament wins was Sam Maddicott. The shield is made from the club's old tennis balls.
