Industry-wide leaders including EU Commissioner, Franz Fischler, Government ministers, officials and farmers themselves will be sharing the Spotlight on Profit Forum platform at the Dairy Event at Stoneleigh Park on Wednesday and Thursday, September 22 and 23.
The popular debating arenas will once again be staged in a purpose built theatre and provide each speaker with a 20 minute window followed by the opportunity for audience participation.
Franz Fischler will make the keynote address on Thursday focusing on the newly enlarged EU and the impact of the accession states on the dairy industry. He'll be followed by the Government Minister Lord Whitty explaining farmers' role in the food chain, while Milk Link's chairman, Jeremy Pope will discuss the future role of milk co-operatives.
The previous day's keynote speech will be made by shadow secretary of state for environment and transport, Tim Yeo, focusing producers' minds on milk pricing issues, followed by Defra's Andrew Slade explaining how the Dairy Supply Chain Forum is taking a grip on that exact same topic.
Wednesday's Spotlight on Profit Forum will also feature DIAL's Jim Begg and south west based cattle vet and winner of this year's RABDF Princess Royal award, Dick Sibley airing his views on TB.
