CLEOBURY Mortimer Volleyball Club entered a team in a three-day tournament
held near Poole over the Bank Holiday weekend.
The 10-strong squad of varying standards competed against teams from across the county and even abroad to win top spot in the mixed league division three.
Four matches played in muddy conditions at Hamworthy Recreation Club, Wimborne, on Saturday, and three games on Sunday saw the team make it to the semi-final on Bank Holiday Monday.
The squad won both sets, going through to a tough final but just scraped a 2-1 win.
This signals a great start to the new season with Cleobury's five teams now training on Tuesday and Wednesday nights at Cleobury Mortimer Sports Centre, from 8pm to 10pm.
