Bishop's Castle 166-5 Bomere Heath 170-3
CASTLE batted steadily after losing the toss on Saturday, but were short of a competitive total and lost their Shropshire League division 2 match at Bomere Heath by seven wickets.
Richard Fifield (56), Edgar Whateley (35no), Richard Whateley (21) and Rhys Davies (16) all batted steadily in the face of some tight bowling, and the innings closed at the end of the 45 overs on 166-5.
Steve Morris bowled a steady spell of 2-45 off 18 overs and James Cook took a wicket, but in truth Bomere coasted home in the 38th over.
This weekend Castle play their last two league fixtures.
They entertain Trysull and Seisdon who are just two points behind them on Saturday, and then finish up making the trip to Condover on Sunday, when they take on the league leaders in a re-arranged game.
