MAYFAIR: The winning numbers in the Mayfair August lottery were 435, 84, 249 and 557, winning £100, £50, £20 and £10. A 10-week course to help people explore their own uniqueness and find out what motivates, excited, moves and inspires them is on offer from Tuesday, September 21, 1.30 - 3.30pm.
LONGMYND HIKE: The annual hike, a 50-mile challenge over varied terrain, takes place on October 2 and 3 and is based at Church Stretton School. Find out more at www.longmyndhikefree-online.co.uk.
TRASH & TREASURE: A trash and treasure sale, in the parish centre on Saturday, will raise funds for Rose Cottage Cat Rescue. On sale will be bric-a-brac, books, toys, crockery, curtains, clothes, cakes, preserves, plants and tools. Admission is free and the event runs from 10.30am - 12.30pm.
DANCE CLUB: Good music, good company, new dances and old favourites are on offer at the Tuesday Dance Club, in the Silvester Horne Institute, from 2-4.30pm. Admission is £2.50, including refreshments, and visitors and new members are welcome. Inquiries: 01694 724030.
SENIOR CITIZENS Club: Members are due to meet tomorrow (Friday), at 2.30pm, in the Silvester Horne Institute. The speaker will be Sue Bennett who will be explaining How to have fun with arthritis! Non-members welcome.
NATIONAL TRUST: The National Trust is organising a wildlife at Walcot evening, for Friday, September 17, from 7.30-10pm when tracking bats with a bat detector will take place.
To take part, meet at the Chalet Pavilion in Carding Mill Valley. The next day will see be a Victorian tree walk in Walcot Wood, at 10am.
Rhos Male Voice Choir will be in concert at Concord College on Saturday, October 9 to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of the Church Stretton Rotary Club. Tickets for this event are available at Wrights Estate Agents and Burway Books and cost £10.
WI: Church Stretton WI will welcome Mrs Elizabeth Chapman as the speaker to its meeting, next Tuesday, in the Silvester Horne Institute, at 7.15pm. The subject will be Thomas Telford's work in Shropshire.
FESTIVAL OF FLOWERS AND MUSIC: Over the bank holiday weekend, the Friends of St Laurence's Church, in Church Stretton, provided a Songs of Praise Festival of Flowers and Music.
Many of the floral arrangements were created by members of the Church Stretton and District Flower Club and St Laurence's Church Flower Group.
Organ recitals and treasure hunts were all part of the activities and there was an opportunity to enjoy the gardens at Park House.
INFORMATION EVENINGS: Tomorrow (Friday), 4-6pm, has been set aside at Church Stretton School as an enrolment and information session for evening classes. Inquiries: 01694 722209 during the day. CANCER CARE: Stretton Cancer Care is due to meet in the Mayfair Community Centre, next Monday, at 2.30pm. Lyn Brown will speak about art therapy and do some practical work with the group.
Art therapy is one of the key treatments at places like the Bristol Cancer Help Centre and Park Attwood Clinic where cancer is treated not just as a physical disease but as one which affects body, mind, emotions and spirit. Lyn is a well-known Shropshire artist and an experienced art therapist and counsellor.

COFFEE MORNING: There will be a coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Relief in the Acorn Wholefood Restaurant and Coffee House on Friday, September 24, 10am to noon.
