RUSHBURY SHOW: Rushbury and District Flower and Produce Show was held on the recent Bank Holiday Monday.The show was a successful event despite the fact that entries were down on previous years. President Jim Madeley thanked all the helpers and sponsors and thanked Mrs Gwen Lippett for presenting the prizes.
Extra events were organised by Paul Butler and helpers, who arranged some model car racing outside, and Marle Lippett who ran indoor events for children. The doorkeeper was Percy Price, the show secretaries were Liz Madeley and Edgar Themans, and the show treasurer was Ethel Price.
Results: The Edgar Themans Perpetual Challenge Trophy, Gordon Young; Eddie Jones Trophy, jointly to J Garrett and Eric Watkins, was awarded the Jack Bright Cup, Arnold Price; Mary Hotchkiss Perpetual Challenge Cup, Eric Watkins; George Preece Cup, Jill Themans; Sperrin Cup, Ethel Price; L & J Edgerton Millennium Trophy, David Sagar.
Children: Edward Gardner Senior Cup, Kris Schlank; Edward Gardner Junior Cup, Adam Young; John Garrett Trophy, Jessica Butler.
CHOIR: Much Wenlock Male Voice Choir will perform in Rushbury village on Saturday, September 18, at 8pm. Ring 01694 771597 or 722912 to book.
TOTE DRAW: The August Tote in aid of Rushbury Village Hall funds resulted in Marcus Themans and Roy Garrett each wining £5, Thomas Priestly and Sue Jelliman each won £10 and Allen Tipper scooped the £40 prize. The next draw is on September 25.
