TWO exhibitions opening at Ludlow Assembly Rooms on September 17 sound good fun, for two very different reasons.
Photographer Darryl K Morris has spent three years capturing images of Speakers' Corner, that piece of ground in London's Hyde Park, where anyone can stand up on a soap box on Sunday and declaim away.
Some of the great speakers that have harangued the crowds are William Morris, George Orwell and Lord Soper. Shropshire-based Darryl has selected 25 images in black and white and colour, showing a mix of energy, raw emotion and humour.
The other exhibition is of art and sculpture, marking World Mental Health Day. Don't be put off. The pieces on show are the work of individuals and groups. They are pure joy and will help dispel the myth that people who have suffered mental illness are excluded from society.
Both shows are free and continue until October 10.
