Bishop's Castle 97-9
Knockin and Kinnersley 98-5
Castle lost the toss and found runs hard to come by on a damp wicket, but made their visitors work hard with the bat before succumbing to a five-wicket defeat in Shropshire division 2.
Edgar Whateley (23) Bill Naden (17), Richard Fifield (11) and Richard Whateley (11) all batted sensibly as the home team scored 97-9 in 45 overs after being invited to bat. Hugh Morris took 3-9 off 13 miserly overs.
When the visitors batted they were made to work hard for their runs, Steve Morris bowling five maidens at the start of his 17.1 over stint. He finished with 3-36 with Simon Palmer grabbing the other wicket as the visitors crept home in the 35th over.
