AM writing this letter of complaint regarding the Puppetry of the Penis event at Ludlow Assembly Rooms. I believe in people having choices, but this is taking things too far.

I have always admired the Assembly Rooms for its selection of entertainment and shows put on over the years, but never thought it would stoop so low as to put on a pornographic event.

If people want to degrade themselves in their own privacy that is up to them, but, to portray it in front of an audience, I find totally disgusting.

They have also printed this garbage in a leaflet which children can pick up and read, who will then think that it is perfectly fine for men to expose themselves in public.

We are trying to teach our children to be aware of this sort of element but when it is blatantly printed that it is OK for men to do this, then what chance do we have?

Please do not think that I am a prude as I find the human body very beautiful, but there is something called public decency that needs to be upheld.

I know that some people have found this particular show very amusing, which just goes to show how sad our society has become.

I was going to join the Assembly Rooms on a yearly basis, but if this is an example of what they call entertainment then I shall certainly think again.

My friends will be informed, and I have many, and I am sure that they, too, will be as incensed as I am.

I do not make a habit of complaining, but feel very let down by the Assembly Rooms's lack of scruples, after always producing such quality in the past.
