Tenbury 2nd 157-9 Hanley Castle and Upton 2nd 102 ao
ALAN Taylor performed well with bat and ball as Tenbury got back to winning ways following two defeats in the Reserve Division 4 of the Worcestershire league. He scored a patient 21 runs to give the visitors innings a solid platform in bowler friendly conditions, and then took 4-19 off 11 overs with his left-arm spin to help secure the win.
Taylor got good support from Steve Giles who adopted a more attacking policy during his innings of 26. Mark Yarrington (46) joined Paul Murphy (21) at 63-5 and the pair added a vital 75 for the sixth wicket. The innings closed shortly after on 157-9 off 45 overs.
When Castle replied their number three, Finlayson blasted 36 quick runs but when he was out the rest settled for a draw. Taylor with the help of a couple of wickets from Adie Edwards teased them out for 102 in the 40th over.
