EVEN the wasps were not enough to stop the crowds thronging around the fruit and fudge stalls at last weekend's Shrewsbury Flower Show.
Thousands poured into the two-day event for a feast of fun, competitions, and demonstrations.
Music came from the Band and Bugles of The Light Division, the Coldstream Guards, the Life Guards, The Royal Engineers and a tropical steel band.
Flowers, fruit and vegetables exhibits abounded, with Mrs E Annison, of Woolhope, earning a second place in the container of miscellaneous houseplants class, second with a basket of violas and/or pansies and third with a basket of summer flowers. The park area featured waterfalls and fountains and splashes of colour and gardens were on display to give ideas and inspire. Fireworks rounded off the festivities.
