LUDLOW Borough Flying Club sent 23 birds to Portland in Dorset, all liberated at 7 am into a south-east wind.
Cecil Biggs took the red card, won the snowball, and he also topped the federation. Second place was A Orsborn, with third going to R and T Bradley who wins the pools, K Biggs was fourth.
Results: 1 C Biggs (1,525.83ypm); 2 A Orsborn (1,475.83ypm); 3 R and T Bradley (1,436.87ypm); 4 K Biggs (1,429.51ypm).
The club also sent 47 birds to Frome in Somerset. The birds were liberated at 10am into a south-west wind.
R and T Bradley won the red card with K Biggs second, B Minton, third, and B Martin, fourth. A Orsborn won the pools.

Ludlow Homing Society sent 173 birds for their young bird race from Frome on Saturday.
Liberated at 10am Bernard Morse took first position with Philip Nicholas second and Graham Hicks third.
Results: 1 B Morse (1,445ypm); 2 P Nicholas (1,430ypm); 3 and 4 G Hicks (1,388 and 1,384ypm); 5 C Pitt and son (1,380ypm); 6 P Nicholas (1,379ypm).
