Ellesmere 134-4 Bromfield 135-2
BROMFIELD coasted to an eight-wicket win at lowly Ellesmere in Division 3 of the Shropshire County League.
They won the toss and invited the home team to bat. Number three batsmen C Harrington held the innings together with an undefeated 65 but in general they made heavy work of scoring, finishing on only 134-4 at the end of their allotted 40 overs. Russell Wilcox bowled well to take 1-8 off six overs.
Doug Gwilliam (23) and Neil Crump (28) gave the Bromfield reply a sound start. Alan Crump (30no) and James Evans (44no) carried on the good work to steer the visitors to an easy win.
