Broseley Juniors 1
Church Stretton 1
A GOAL by Mike Dupper 15 minutes from time cancelled out a first half effort from the home team to give Church Stretton a share of the spoils in their opening Shropshire County Premier League fixture of the season.
Stretton perhaps shaded the play in the first half, but when a ball fell free 25 yards from goal a Broseley player swung his leg and the ball rocketed into the back of the net to give the home side a fortuitous lead at the break.
The visitors pushed forward after the interval and after both Dupper and Adam Bowen spurned chances, it was the former who got his foot to the ball at the far post after a neat build up. They continued to push forward but in the end can take good heart from an away point against last years runners-up.
