LUDLOW Castle Bowling Club held its annual club day competition on Sunday with 32 bowlers making it an enjoyable days bowling. Two sections were contested and all games were played nine ends up.
Section One saw Colin Lane and Pat Sale come out on top with 50 shots with Carl Bowen and Luke Bowen in runners up spot on 39 shots.
Section Two was a slightly tighter finish with Graham Lane and Ben Allen winning on 46 shots with a tie for second spot on 43 shots between Ian Jackson and Lillian Lewis, and Dave Howell and Sue Lane.
In the final Graham Lane and Ben Allen, who both had been bowling some great woods all day, went into a 4-0 lead against Colin Lane and Pat Sale. But it was the latter pair who then pulled out all the stops to take the lead, and with some excellent bowling finished winners of the competition 13-6.
Cicely Bownes presented both winners and runners up with bottles of wine, also thanking everyone for a very sporting day.
Final result: Colin Lane and Pat Sale 13 Graham Lane and Ben Allen 6.
