In reply to R H Gilbert's letter (Council could move to Foldgate - Advertiser August 5), he has been in Ludlow only 12 months so will not remember when Castle Square was not an open space - that is if you discount the market stalls that seem to be a permanent fixture.
When we had the town hall some said it was an ugly building but, to a great many Ludlow people, it was a part of their lives and brings many happy memories.
These are the ones who would love to see another town hall there again.
The day the town hall was demolished the character was taken from the Ludlow town centre.
