Church Stretton 3 Meole Brace 3 (aet)
(Stretton win 4-3 on penalties)
Church Stretton battled well to win an epic Shropshire County Cup Quarter-final match after a dramatic penalty shoot-out, during which keeper Anthony Prince denied the opposition twice and Joe Leask bagged a hat trick.
Stretton came close three times in the first half with one on one chances, but could not convert leaving the game scoreless at the break.
Ten minutes into the second half Dan Woosnam's through ball found striker Leask to take the lead, and then with 20 minutes to go Leask grabbed a second goal when he controlled a dean Richards free kick to volley home.
With some breathing space Stretton sat back, this allowed Meole back into the game and they levelled with a long-range shot and a late penalty.
Meole Brace took the lead with a goal in the first minute of extra time, but couldn't hold on as Joe Leask rounded their defence to bag his hat trick.
With no clear winner after extra time the match was to be settled by penalties.
Stretton keeper Prince saved Meole's first and third attempts. The third spot kick for both teams were taken twice after the keepers were adjudged to have moved early, neither team scored the retakes, but both scored their remaining two and Stretton went through 4-3.
