SOME of your readers may have wondered why there was no produce market in Castle Square on January 8.
The combination of extremely high winds and heavy rain made the area around the market stalls too dangerous for the producers or public to use so, reluctantly, the market manager had to cancel the market for safety reasons. Our customers know that we are normally there come rain, snow or frost, so I particularly regret the disappointment to those who had battled through the weather to support us. We will be there on February 12 and all succeeding second Thursdays throughout the year.
