HAVE South Shropshire district councillors any idea how immensely frustrated the residents of Ludlow are becoming?
Although lip service is paid to "consultation", decision after decision is taken totally ignoring locally expressed opinions. The library, the Eco-Business Park, the Bull Ring traffic scheme, the glass construction in the centre of the old grammar school, are all examples of decisions made by planning authorities in the face of opposition.
Particularly, the Eco-Business Park, which, by breaching the natural boundary of the A49 could totally alter Ludlow, was passed by a hair's breath, having already been rejected by the planning committee, and should be put up for reinvestigation.
If the Eco-Business Park was chosen by a majority of Ludlow citizens, then justice would be seen to be done. As it is, democracy seems to be dead in Ludlow.
