LUDLOW will try to add to its accolades this summer by competing in the Britain in Bloom competition for the first time.
The town's Tourism Group has called a public meeting at the Buttercross on Wednesday, January 28, at 7pm to develop plans to give Ludlow a fighting chance.
"This will the first time that Ludlow has tried," said the Mayor, Graeme Kidd. "We probably won't win but it will mean a much more colourful town centre."
Outline ideas include hanging baskets and flowering tubs in Market Square and general refurbishment around the Castle.
Horticultural experts from local groups will be at the meeting in the council's offices.
"We would also welcome anyone with an interest in gardening who would like to come along to find out a little more and help us develop the most cost effective plans for improving the floral aspects of Ludlow's public places," Coun Kidd said.
