Wrockwardine 1 Brown Clee 1

BROWN Clee were looking certain of coming back from Wrockwardine with all three points after controlling this competitive Shropshire County League Division 1 clash, until their hosts grabbed an equaliser in the last minute.

Without some regulars Brown Clee brought in a couple of youngsters who took a while to settle down as Wrockwardine applied some early pressure.

The visiting defence coped well and restricted Wrockwardine to long range shots which were confidently dealt with by goalkeeper Steve Jordan.

Gradually the visitors took control but were unable to provide the finishing touches, the only real threat coming from a strong drive by Phil Brick.

After the break Brown Clee continued to hold the upper hand but Wrockwardine broke quickly and were only denied by a diving save from Jordan.

Persistent pressure paid off and Brown Clee took the lead when a deep free kick into the box fell to Brick who forced the ball home.

With time running out Wrockwardine forced a corner, their centre-half moving up to rise at the far post and head home a last gasp equaliser.
