Craven Arms 0 Broseley 5
PLAYING their first game for a month, Craven Arms came against high-flying Broseley, boosted by a couple of Midland Alliance guests, and understandably struggled in this Shropshire County Premier League clash.
After their prolonged break, Craven were slow to settle and soon found themselves behind when ex-Ludlow Town star Gareth Horler, guesting for Broseley as his present club Causeway's match was postponed, set up the opening goal. However, they battled back and almost got on terms when Stuart Owens slid in at the far post and just failed to connect with the goal wide open.
Broseley continued to have the better of play and added three further goals before the break.
Craven did not drop their heads and played their way back into the game, creating several half-chances but being unable to finish. Nick Apperley had a glorious chance to reduce arrears but blasted over when well placed.
The visitors grabbed a late goal but the hosts certainly deserved a goal as the final score-line did not reflect Craven's second-half performance.
