Drive south from Ludlow for 15 minutes and you pass well-advanced works for a big commercial site on the Leominster bypass. This is administratively foreign ground -- it is in Herefordshire. So it does not figure in South Shropshire planning. But in the real world, shoppers do not abide by county boundaries!
Craven Arms has its Long Lane and other commercial sites. Since the departure of the railway works, it needs them. Leominster is having its new site developed on the A49. With the Ludlow Eco-park, the lovely A49 would have a succession of three such sites at quarter-hour intervals. Does anyone really believe the Marches need a proliferation on this scale?
