THE lights will go out in St Laurence Church, Ludlow, and a candlelit procession will enter singing "O come. O come Emmanuel."
That will be the start of Follow that Star, when Ludlow Choral Society presents a concert of Christmas music for all the family on December 13 at 7.30pm.
The programme by Ludlow Young Voices should suit all tastes and includes arrangements of 14th century carols as well as such traditional favourites as Away in a Manger, Silent Night and Jingle Bells. The audience will also have a chance to sing in Once in Royal David's City and other much loved items.
As the year ends, plans are already being made for the Choral Society's 2004 programme.
There will be Brahms's German Requiem on April 4 and a Choral Workshop of music by Parry and Stanford on May 15. Ralph Vaughan Williams and John Rutter feature on June 12 and Handel's Messiah on November 20. Everything comes full circle on December 11 with next year's carol concert On Christmas Day.
