Old Griffinians 27 pts Cleobury Mortimer 13
HELD over for a week because of the World Cup Final, this rearranged North Midlands Two fixture produced an entertaining game with Cleobury eventually giving best to their high-flying hosts.
Paul Hulland continued his rich vein of scoring form to rock Griffinians with a well-taken try, and reserve kicker Kev Shields proved a more than adequate stand-in for absent regular kicker Colin Smith by giving a faultless display in landing a conversion and two penalties.
Although Cleobury were always in the game the strong Griffinians had the upper hand and deserved their win.
Cleobury now find themselves at the foot of the table after bottom club Upton-on-Severn managed a win at Woodrush.
