A FORMER Ludlow primary school teacher has died aged 77.
Mrs Jeanne Violet Kehoe died on November 8 following a stroke and a short illness.
Mrs Kehoe arrived in Ludlow in 1966 and took up a teaching post at the Ludlow County Junior School - then situated on Old Street - where her husband, Denis, had been appointed headmaster.
From this post, Mrs Kehoe moved to Knowbury CP School and in the early 1970s followed her husband to Kent, where she was appointed as headteacher of Worth CP School, near Sandwich.
During her years in Ludlow, Mrs Kehoe became known to many children and their parents and always felt very much at home in the town. She was an enthusiastic member of the Inner Wheel, a membership that continued in Kent until her death.
Mrs Kehoe is survived by her husband Denis and sons Shaun and Rory. Over the years that have passed, the Kehoe family has often recalled many happy days they enjoyed living in Ludlow.
A private family funeral has taken place. Enquiries can be made to rkehoe@cochlear.co.uk
