Ludlow Rovers 2 Much Wenlock 0
THE ROVERS overcame the disappointment of missing a first half penalty to secure the vital points in the Ironbridge Sunday Premier League.
This was an important win as it moves them above their third placed opponents, and to within one point of the leaders with two games in hand.
The visitor's keeper made a spectacular save to keep out Horace Bodenham's penalty kick after Sean Nicholls had been upended. Ludlow atoned for this in the second half as Butch Collier thumped in a header from close range after Leon Weaver had supplied the cross.
It was one way traffic now, and after the keeper had made three good saves he was finally beaten by Richard Phillips, who tapped home a Bobby Bradley cross. It could have been three but Warren Wilson saw his 25-yard drive cannon back off the cross-bar.
