PETE Postlethwaite is continuing his support of the Caitlin Kick-Start Award Fund with two charity performances of his one man show Scaramouche Jones at Ludlow Assembly Rooms.
The Shropshire-based actor plays the lovable clown Scaramouche as he gives his last ever performance on his 100th birthday. He confronts the ghosts of his past and reveals secrets he has kept hidden behind his painted face for 50 years.
Tickets for the first night - Friday, January 9 - are already on sale and those for the Saturday will be available when the new Assembly Rooms brochure comes out in mid-December.
Postlethwaite has supported the Kick Start Award since it began, following the tragic death of Ludlow College arts student Caitlin Hurcombe. The fund helps young performing arts students from Ludlow and Bishop's Castle Colleges to further their studies.
Caitlin's mother Linda explained: "Her last dramatic production was a play she co-wrote with fellow students, based on the seven deadly sins. Then Pete, one of her favourite film icons, appeared in a TV series on the same subject. I wrote to him and invited him to be honorary patron. He said yes and has stayed with the vision of Kick-Start throughout. Caitlin would be so thrilled."
Tickets are selling fast. To book or put yourself on the free mailing list, call the box office on 01584 878141.
