THERE'S harmony in the fact that jeweller Mike Gell will open this evening's private view of Hereford's tenth Contemporary Craft Fair, which the public can visit from tomorrow.

Mike, chairman of contemporary jewellers group Alloy, was involved in the inaugural exhibition which proved to be the seed for future shows.

"It's good to be able to recognise his contribution over the years," said council crafts officer Peter Norton, who is responsible for the co-ordination of this year's craft fair, which includes the work of 50 craftspeople of exceptional quality, selected from around Britain.

To compliment the Courtyard event, which will be open from 10am to 6pm, the caf will be offering a special menu, using locally sourced ingredients.

There will also be a rolling programme of craft demonstrations taking place in the foyer.

Alloy, which is also celebrating its 10th birthday, is holding an exhibition of work by 20 of its member at Hereford's Left Bank Village from Saturday.

The Contemporary Craft Fair is open until Sunday and the Alloy exhibition will continue until December 6.
